You almost missed the registration event because the date was sent on a postcard back in May. You filled out two packets of the same information you provide every year while trying to keep your kids entertained in a hot gym with fifty other families.
Let’s face it. Back to school is stressful for everyone in the family. Suddenly you have to scramble to find those immunization cards, lunch account numbers, buy school supplies, make room for new uniforms, get kids on new sleep schedules, pull a bunch of lunch recipes out of your junk drawer and all this while facing the emotions the come with the realization that your babies are growing up.
Mom it’s time to delegate, step back, and let yourself enjoy a moment in the midst of the chaos. Maybe that means that this Thursday you make arrangements with a girlfriend, husband, friend to take your kids to a movie while you enjoy a massage, or happy hour with girlfriends. Or team up with another mom for a day out enjoying a hike in a beautiful space outside of the city. It’s time to enlist your circle of support to help bring a little serenity to a your life.
If you are new to Denver and need help plugging into a sister circle of supportive ladies then let me recommend some wonderful places to find community in our city!

Beyond walking, GirlTrek’s active members support local and national policy to increase physical activity through walking, improve access to safe places to walk, protect and reclaim green spaces, and improve the walkability and built environments of 50 high-need communities across the United States.
